Project Westwood

This modern family home included pool surrounds, firepit area, retaining and garden design. This large block needed usable spaces that didn’t require a lot of maintenance for this busy family. They also wanted to include elements from their beloved homeland of South Africa. To do this we incorporated a boab tree visible from both the inside of the house and sitting high in place outside the house, a beautiful reminder for them every time they look at it. The firepit was built deeper than usual so they could also use it to cook on an open flame with the use of a custom-made grill plate that can be easily placed in or removed when needed. Suspended hardwood bench seating was also incorporated so that larger gatherings can be catered for.
